Welcome to The Richard O'Brien Story and Projects

My life story starts with me growing up as a happy kid in the snows of Toronto, Canada and the beaches of Florida to becoming a cadet at Culver Military Academy. After becoming a teacher, and studying genocide at Georgetown University,  I founded the Center for the Prevention of Genocide (CPG).  Aside from my kids, the CPG is the best accomplishment of my life. This website is my attempt to put all of my adventures, creative projects, influences and works in one place.

I created my own world, literally, a planet called Jenoco which was the dystopian future of earth after it was destroyed in the Cold War. The characters were iconic and the stories sounded like Greek mythology: Humaises the Galderon Warrior, the Cousin-Kings, Phealia and Lamage and, of course, the Dark Lord of Vancer. I wrote non-stop for 3 years, concluded the story and put it on a shelf for 40 years until my kids discovered it. Now, a staff and I world on bringing these stories to the small screen.

Culver Military Academy (Culver Academies) was  a tremendous influence on the direction of my life. It deeply influenced my beliefs and commitment to integrity. My interest in International Affairs began at SIS at American University. But Georgetown University was where the idea for the Center for the Prevention of Genocide was born.
